About the Laboratory

Laboratory of Cereal Technology and Agricultural Chemistry is in operation at Stende Research Centre (1923 - insight into history).

The laboratory has been equipped with devices that enable the investigation of the following test objects:

  • cereals and grain processing products
  • plant biomass
  • soillabora

The Laboratory of Cereal Technology and Agricultural Chemistry determines biochemical and physical parameters by using both standard and express methods.
The tests are performed for the needs of the scientific and research work, as well as for the needs of individual customers (farmers, and other stakeholders).

To guarantee the objectivity of tests, the laboratory was accredited by Latvian National Accreditation Bureau in 2006 (Reg. No. LATAK-T-313-14-2006), which confirms the conformity of work to the requirements of LV EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Area of accreditation: physical and physically - chemical testing of cereals and grain processing products in non-regulated and regulated area.

Cereal analyser Infratec NOVA has been installed at the laboratory. Standardisation of calibrations of the device has been performed and it has been included into Latvian Infratec Grain Network.
