8th Nordic Plant Phenotyping Network (NPPN) workshop

On November 24-25, Māra Bleidere, the leading researcher from AREI Crop Research Department, participated in the 8th Nordic Plant Phenotyping Network (NPPN) workshop held in Bastad (Sweden). The seminar program included presentations about research results obtained within the framework of the Nordic public-private partnership phenotyping project 6P3 and devoted to the application of precise phenotyping methods, including UAV and proximal phenotyping, in plant breeding. Workshop participants were also introduced with EEA and Baltic research program project NOBALwheat - a set of wheat breeding tools for a sustainable food system in the Nordic and Baltic region (NOBALwheat)implemented in AREI within the framework of the phenotyping research conducted in the Baltic countries and Norway. The future on development of plant phenotyping activities in the Nordic/Baltic region was discussed.
