Morphological description: |
Two-row ear, on average 7.5 cm long, the average stem length 70 cm (similar to the variety ‘Ansis’). |
Economic characteristics: |
Medium-early variety, vegetation period 95 - 105 days (4 days shorter than that of ‘Ansis’). High lodging resistance (8.5 - 9.0 points). Potential productivity at the average fertilisation does is up to 7.5 t ha-1 (average productivity at Stende over a period of 5 years: 6.53 t ha-1). |
Quality: |
The grain is coarse, 1,000 grain weight 46-53 g, density is high 680-710 g L-1. Total protein content in grains 9.5 - 12.5 %. |
Susceptibility to diseases: |
Very high or complete resistance to mildew in field conditions, high resistance to net blotch. Medium resistance to fusariosis. |
Use: |
The grain can be used for animal feed and food |
Cultivation: |
The variety is suitable for cultivation in good and medium cultivated soils, sowing rate 350-400 germinating seeds per m2. Optimum dose of nitrogen fertiliser in well cultivated soils averages from 90 to 110 kg ha-1. Cultivation by using integrated agriculture technologies is permissible. |
